Capture The Egg — LifeSteal Server — Season 2

Season 2 is a fresh world with the same mods as before, plus a new server-wide capture-the-flag twist: the Dragon Egg. When logged into the LifeSteal server, these are the details:

Required Mods (Java Edition only)

This server runs Fabric 1.21.11 with a LifeSteal mod that adds a few custom items. You'll need the following installed in your .minecraft/mods folder before you can connect:

• Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or higher
• Fabric API 0.141.4+1.21.11 or higher
• LifeSteal (Fabric) 1.1.11

The Dragon Egg — Capture the Flag

There is exactly one Dragon Egg in the world, and it is always sitting in some player's inventory — never in a chest, never hidden away. It works like a flag in a capture-the-flag game: whoever holds it is a target, and killing them is how you take it from them.

• The egg can't be placed as a block, stored in an ender chest, or stashed in a shulker box (even nested inside another container). If you try, it gets pulled back out and sent on its way.
• If you drop it on purpose, it flies straight to the nearest online player's inventory instead of sitting on the ground.
• If nobody is online when it's ejected, it waits safely in place and delivers itself to the next player who logs in.

What happens when the holder dies:

• Killed by another player (including being knocked into a hazard by them shortly before dying) — the egg goes straight to the killer. This is the "capture" moment.
• Died to anything else (mobs, fall damage, lava, starvation, etc.) — nobody gets the egg. Instead it returns to a real Dragon Egg block sitting at its original spawn point in the End, complete with the classic vanilla behaviour of teleporting away when clicked or mined. Getting it back is a genuine trip into the End, not a walk-up freebie.

If every copy of the egg is ever lost after the dragon has been killed at least once, a fresh egg automatically spawns so the game continues.

Commands (operators only):

• /dragonegg status — see who currently holds the egg (never reveals their location)
• /dragonegg give <player> — admin override; pulls the egg from wherever it is and hands it to the given player

How LifeSteal Works

LifeSteal provides a refined and customizable version of the classic experience: if you kill a player, you gain a heart. Lose all your hearts and you're banned — unless you craft your way back in.

• Kill another player → gain 1 heart
• Die to another player → lose 1 heart
• Reach 0 hearts → banned from the server
• Craft a Heart to get a heart back, or a Beacon of Life to revive a banned player

Use the Beacon of Life to revive a player who has been banned for running out of hearts.

Enchanted Golden Apple

This restores the classic pre-1.9 crafting recipe for Enchanted Golden Apples, which vanilla now only lets you find in loot chests.

LifeSteal Hearts Commands

Player commands:

• /withdraw <amount> — removes hearts equal to the number given
• /lifesteal-client <messages/notifications/sounds> — toggle your own quality-of-life notifications on/off

Operator commands:

• /revive — revive a banned player without needing a Beacon of Life
• /lifesteal-config <info/reload> — view or reload server config

The /string Command

Not a dupe glitch — a built-in, deliberately-cooldown-limited command that saves you farming spiders or cobwebs:

• /string — fills the empty slots in your inventory with stacks of string. 120 second cooldown by default.
• /stringconfig cooldown <seconds> — set your own cooldown (admin only)
• /stringconfig amount fullinv — give full stacks of 64 to every empty slot (admin only)
• /stringconfig amount custom <amount> — give an exact amount instead of full stacks (admin only)
• /stringconfig help — show the command menu

Built on the LifeSteal (Fabric) mod by dogwhale65 (MIT License), adapted to this server's own crafting recipes, plus our own custom Dragon Egg mod. Heart and Beacon of Life icons are the mod's own CC0-licensed textures; vanilla ingredient icons are from the Minecraft Wiki.
